Generation Pipeline’s primary asset, the Oregon Lateral, was originally developed and constructed by NCGT to supply the Oregon Clean Energy Center; one of Ohio’s first modern era combined cycle power plants following robust inexpensive shale gas production in eastern Ohio.

Recognizing the new pipeline would be a catalyst for future industrial growth in northwest Ohio, NCGT partnered with Houston-based private equity group Avista Capital to form Generation Pipeline (GPL) and finish building the 23 mile 24” diameter Oregon Lateral Pipeline. Shortly after construction in 2016, two additional industrial gas users sited new facilities adjacent to the pipeline and contracted for the pipeline’s remaining capacity.

In 2019, NCGT and its partners sold Generation Pipeline to Nexus Gas Transmission, LLC a 50/50 partnership between DTE Energy Company and Enbridge Inc.
